Green Business Definition
Green Times defines "Green" as per the Merriam-Webster dictionary definition as
"being concerned with and supporting environmentalism" and "tending to preserve environmental quality".
Green Times is committed to promoting businesses, organizations, and products that fall under this definition. All of our listings and advertisers meet our Green Business Definition to ensure the quality and credibility of our content.
Green Business Eligibility Criteria
To be listed on Green Times, the business or organization must generally follow the following practices:
Relate to or advocate ecological awareness and the preservation of natural resources,
Operate in ways that solve, rather than cause, environmental problems,
Offer a majority of products that are certified organic, fair trade, or recycled,
Offer a majority of products that provide a low carbon alternative to traditional products,
Use alternative and low carbon sources for energy and transportation,
Purchase renewable electricity or renewable electricity credits for electricity needs,
Purchase carbon credits to offset all emissions.
Other practices that contribute to the eligibility for directory listing and website advertising include:
A clear commitment to helping protect the environment,
A commitment to reducing energy consumption,
A commitment to maximizing workplace recycling,
A commitment to using recycled, low impact products,
A commitment to reducing consumption and waste,
The facilitation of environmentally positive choices for employees,
An involvement in community programs.
Green Times will consider all potential listings and advertisers on a case-by-case basis to ensure that they all meet Green Times standards.
If your business does not fall under the above criteria we are happy to help your business become eligible by recommending an environmental consultant to help your business become greener and meet Green Times Green Business Definition.
In the case of your business changing its services or products in a way that means that it no longer qualifies as a green business according to our definition, the listing will be removed from Green Times immediately without refund.
Green Times reserves the right to deny or remove any listings.
